The Good Little Dog School is owned and operated by Theresa Card.

The adoring Mum of Beau and Bebe, Theresa has been active in dog training since adopting Beau in 2001. What started as training for Beau rapidly became a passionate hobby for Theresa, who began spending more and more time volunteering, reading animal behavior texts, and attending lectures and conferences on the subject.

By 2004, Theresa had succumbed to the "behavior bug" and began pursuing more intensive professional training. Theresa spent much of 2005 immersed in hands-on learning with some of the US's most esteemed dog behavior experts. Theresa spent three months in Hagerstown, Maryland for an apprenticeship with author, columnist, and Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) past-president Pat Miller. Conducting group classes, assisting in behavior consultations, and performing behavior assessments at the local humane society - working with Pat was a dream come true and an incredible learning experience.

Immediately following that apprenticeship, Theresa went to San Francisco, CA where she attended the SF SPCA's prestigious six-week Academy for Dog Trainers. At the Academy, Theresa was privileged to learn from one of her idols: Jean Donaldson, author of The Culture Clash, Jean sets a high standard for her students, equipping them with the theoretical and practical skills needed for success. The Academy provides an unparalleled education in animal leaning, behavior modification, and critical thinking. Theresa was thrilled to graduate with the highest marks in her class, and to be chosen as the class Valedictorian.

Theresa returned to Manhattan in July of 2005, and officially launched the Good Little Dog School in September of 2005.

Before becoming a professional dog trainer, Theresa was a management consultant to several prominent not-for-profit organizations. She graduated from Barnard College with a degree in English Literature in 1995.
